Baicaogou Town, belonging to Wangqing County, Yanbian Korean Autonomous Prefecture, Jilin Province, is located in the southwest of Wangqing County and the downstream of Gaya river. It borders Wangqing town and Dongguang town in the East, Yilan town of Yanji City in the south, Yilan town of Yanji City in the West and Daxinggou town in the North, with an administrative area of 584.02 square kilometers.

In the early Qing Dynasty, it was a forbidden mountain paddock; in November 1954, Baicaogou district was changed into a township; in November 1984, Baicaogou township was changed into a town. By the end of 2018, the registered residence population in pichugou town was 13221. As of June 2020, baicaogou town has one community and 34 administrative villages.

History of construction

In the early Qing Dynasty, it was forbidden mountain paddock.

In 1881, it belonged to Chunrong society of Hunchun Reclamation Bureau.

In 1910, Chunrong society was established in Wangqing County.

In 1931, it belonged to the first district. In December of the same year, it was changed to Chunrong township.

In 1936, Chunrong township was transformed into a village.

In November 1945, it was changed to Chunrong district.

In May 1948, it was renamed the second district; in July of the same year, it was renamed Baicaogou district.

In November 1954, Baicaogou district was transformed into a township.

In September 1958, Baicaogou township was transformed into a commune.

In June 1961, baicaogou commune was divided into two communes: Zhongan commune and Zhongping commune.

In September 1983, baicaogou commune was transformed into a township.

In November 1984, Baicaogou township was transformed into a town.

In 1998, Zhongan and Zhongping townships were merged.
