AGA town

AGA town is located in the southeast of Liupanshui, the "Liangdu" of China. It is adjacent to Panlong town in the East, guobujia Township and Miluo town in the south, shaomi town in the west, Shuangshui community and Liupanshui Hongqiao Industrial Development Zone in the north. The town has 10 administrative villages, 1 neighborhood committee, 147 villager groups, 16457 households and 64946 people. There are Han, Yi, Miao, Buyi, Gelao, Shui and other ethnic groups living in the territory, and ethnic minorities account for 8.7% of the total population. The total area is 178.1 square kilometers, with 142305 mu of arable land, 24389 mu of barren hills and slopes, and 44.3% of forest coverage. The town is 850-1900 meters above sea level, with an average annual rainfall of 1200 mm and frost free period of about 250 days.

New AGA town was established in 2015.

Historical change

In 2012, the provincial government (qianfuhan No. 261) approved to abolish AGA Township and set up AGA Town, with the town government stationed in AGA village.

On June 4, 2015, the provincial government (qianfuhan No. 129) approved Shuicheng County to abolish AGA town and Yanjing Township and set up a new AGA Town: AGA town governs the original AGA town and Yanjing Township, and the town government is stationed in AGA neighborhood committee.

Jiakaiying scenic spot in the lower reaches of Hedu River, Liangdu hot spring and pollution-free agricultural sightseeing are summer resorts for fitness and recuperation, holiday tourism and leisure; Dapingzi, a broad high school, is a good place to experience Miao's customs, ride horses and sing songs; Tianshengqiao on balang River, Xianrendong on xincha River and xiongjiayan in yanjiajia village Hole, let people linger.

Honors

On July 29, 2020, it was named as the National Health township (county) of 2017-2019 cycle by the National Patriotic Health Campaign Committee.
