Located in the northeast of Meigu county. It is bordered by Sheba, meiziba, wahoukou, baijiawan, Dayuanzi and Yonghong townships of Mabian Yi Autonomous County in the East, northeast and Southeast, Longwo Township and Dabao District of Ebian Yi Autonomous County in the northwest, and RUOHA Township in the West and southwest. The countryside is surrounded by mountains, and the surrounding mountains are between 2600 and 4042 meters above sea level. Wahou river runs through the north, the lowest part of northeast Valley, with an altitude of 1598 meters. The rural area is 204.47 square kilometers. Township governance shuwo village, 1740 meters above sea level, has a rural road to the county, 100 kilometers away from the county. The township governs 5 villages (shuwo, Chenjia, Dawan, siyilebi and Luozi) with 20 groups, 582 households and 2893 people, including 2870 Yi and 23 Han. The population density is 8.55 per square kilometer. According to 2007 statistics, there are 87 giant pandas in Dafengding Nature Reserve. There are 9 hydropower stations.
brief introduction
In October 1956, two townships, shuwo and Dawan, were set up. The township government offices were in shuwo village and Dawan village respectively. In August 1957, the Township People's committees were established respectively. In October 1958, Dawan township was merged into shuwo township. In May 1968, the Township Reform Committee was established. On March 4, 1972, it was converted into a commune. On July 12, 1981, the commune reform committee was changed into the management committee. In July 1984, the township system was restored and the township government was established.
On January 12, 2021, Sichuan Provincial People's government decided to abolish shuwo Township and establish wahou township. The administrative region of the original shuwo township is the administrative region of wahou Township, and the people's Government of wahou township is stationed at No. 5, group 2, Nenghe village.
economic development
In 1990, the total agricultural output value of the township was 927500 yuan (294700 yuan for agriculture, 156800 yuan for forestry, 190600 yuan for animal husbandry, 285400 yuan for sideline and fishery); the area of permanent cultivated land was 3020 mu, and the total grain output was 680000 kg. Main production of corn, potato, rapeseed, pepper, Gastrodia elata, honey. There are 601 yellow cattle, 4 Buffalo, 272 yaks, 15 horses, 2506 pigs, 1966 goats and 1560 sheep. There are 1 commercial purchasing and marketing group and 1 Bank Credit Union in the township, 2 rural primary schools with 116 students, 1 health center and 1 medical staff.
