Yueyue township. In the northeast, yuehuangmaogeng borders Pingtou township of Leibo County; in the northwest, it borders Liuhong township; in the south, it faces Guli District of Zhaojue County across Liutong river. The terrain is steep, with the highest altitude of 3724 meters in the north and the lowest altitude of 640 meters in the south.

brief introduction

Yueyue village, located in Yuanxiang, is 1890 meters above sea level, with no road and about 100 kilometers away from the county seat. It governs 9 villages, 38 groups, 829 households and 3706 people, including 3704 Yi and 2 Hui. The population density is 59.52 per square kilometer.

In 1990, the total agricultural output value of the township was 1099400 yuan (346600 yuan for agriculture, 64800 yuan for forestry, 417200 yuan for animal husbandry, 270800 yuan for sideline and fishery); the area of cultivated land was 6483 mu, and the total grain output was 1409000 kg. The main products are corn, potato, buckwheat, tung oil, peanut, pepper, walnut and sugarcane. There are 1173 yellow cattle, 3 Buffalo, 77 horses, 4630 pigs, 2852 goats and 3161 sheep.

There are 1 commercial purchasing and marketing group and 1 Bank Credit Union in the township, 7 rural primary schools with 139 students, 1 health center and 1 medical staff.

Historical evolution

On January 10, 1957, Yueyue and nizhu townships were built respectively. Leyue Township governs six villages of leyue, BoMo, Bagu, Sandi and majishuoe, and the township is located in leyue village. Nizhu Township governs four villages: zezuluoga, BAHA, zanagu and mulehuo, and the township is located in BAHA village. In October 1958, nizhu township was merged into leyue Township, and the township people committee was established.

In May 1968, the Township Reform Committee was established.

In February 1972, it was transformed into a commune. On July 12, 1981, it was transformed into a management committee.

In July 1984, the commune was removed and the township government was established.

In 1985, the Township Office was moved to majishuoe village beside meizhuo highway, 800 meters above sea level, 80 kilometers away from the county seat.

On January 12, 2021, the people's Government of Sichuan Province decided to abolish leyue Township and put its administrative area under the jurisdiction of Liuhong Township, which is located in No. 3, group 4, shuo'e village, Maji.

Meigu River

The ancient name "Beishui" belongs to the Jinsha River water system. It originates from majayeyida in the northwest of yiguojue Township, flows southward to luoyigan Township, joins with Zhuhe River in Zhaojue County, and then flows out of the county through atubagu in leyue township to the East. It runs through more than 20 towns in the County, with a total length of more than 140 kilometers, a flow area of more than 2100 square kilometers and a drop of more than 2700 meters The river valley is V-shaped, which is an ideal place for hydropower development.

Meigu River, with its graceful posture, is like a giant dragon, winding among the mountains. Where it flows through, it has luxuriant crops and trees. With its sweet milk, it has cultivated the Yi people who have lived on the river for generations, and left many beautiful and moving legends and stories for later generations. According to the old people, there was no unified name for the Meigu River before. It was named according to the place where it flows. Therefore, there are more than ten names for the Meigu River, and the name of each place has a moving story. In Hagu village of Longmen Township, Meigu River is called Hagu Yida. "Hagu" is a place name, and "Yida" refers to dahegou. The River encircles the local village into a big semicircle, which is equivalent to laying a water wall for the villagers living here. On the one hand, it brings great convenience to the local villagers for drinking water and irrigation; on the other hand, it plays a natural defensive role for the villagers' safety. No robber has ever stolen anything from Hagu village. It is said that once, when Zhige alon's mother passed by haguyida, she lost her way when she was looking for a way along the river because she couldn't cross the river. Later, she fainted by the river because of excessive hunger. Fortunately, she was found by a local herdsman. The simple and kind villagers rescued her home and helped her cross the Meigu River after killing pigs and sheep. When Zhige Aron learned of this, he rode a flying horse to haguida. In order to appreciate the villagers' help, he sent out a flying horse to level the narrow valley. Since then, it has brought great convenience for local villagers to cross the river. Up to now, the footprints of zhigaelung Pegasus are still deeply imprinted on a large stone of haguida, a section of which is 50 to 100 meters wide.

With the continuous development and progress of society and the accelerating development of Meigu River, today, Meigu River has ushered in unprecedented brightness and hope.

With the strategic deployment of the central government's western development, the implementation of the "west to East power transmission" and "Sichuan power transmission" strategies, the Meigu River Basin has carried out cascade rolling and comprehensive development.

According to the approved plan, Meigu River Basin will develop and construct five cascade hydropower stations of "one reservoir and five levels", which are niuniuba, Waluo, wajiji, Liuhong and Pingtou from top to bottom, with a total installed capacity of more than 500000 kW and an annual power generation of 2.4 billion kwh. This will promote the improvement of local fiscal revenue and people's living standards.
