Shihai Township

Shihai township is subordinate to Ganluo County, Liangshan Yi Autonomous Prefecture, Sichuan Province. It is located at 102 ° 47 ′～ 102 ° 50 ′ E and 28 ° 50 ′～ 28 ° 54 ′ n, in the South East of Ganluo county. It is separated by Ganluo River, aer Township and Bobo Township in the East, Jimi town in the south, sijue town in the west, and Rick Township and Puchang town in the north. It is 16 kilometers away from the county.

On June 12, 2020, the people's Government of Sichuan Province decided to abolish Shihai township.

Historical evolution

Because it is located on a high mountain slope, it is called Shihai in Yi language. After the democratic reform in 1956, Shihai township was established under the jurisdiction of sijue district. In 1960, it was the Shihai brigade of sijue people's commune. In 1961, the commune was withdrawn to restore the township system. In 1972, it was transformed into Shihai people's commune. In 1973, it was assigned to Puchang district and in 1985, it was restored to Shihai township. on June 12, 2020, the people's Government of Sichuan Province decided to abolish Shihai township.
