Dahua Township, Yuexi County, Liangshan Prefecture, Sichuan Province, is located in the west of Yuexi County, 5km away from the county seat. It faces Dingshan Township in the East, Zhongsuo town in the south, Mianning County in the West and Yuecheng town in the north. With an average altitude of 2055 meters, annual rainfall of 1115 mm and frost free period of 217 days, it is an ethnic township dominated by Yi people. It has jurisdiction over 6 administrative villages and 21 farming and animal husbandry service cooperatives, with a population of 5 445 and a household number of 1 325.

Historical evolution

On January 12, 2021, Sichuan Provincial People's government decided to abolish Dahua Township and establish Dahua town. The administrative region of Dahua town is the former administrative region of Dahua town. The people's Government of Dahua town is located at no.45-1 Dahua Road, Ruiyuan village.

economic development

The whole township is dominated by agriculture. There are 10816 livestock in stock. The main crops are corn, potato, buckwheat and wheat. The cash crops are flue-cured tobacco, marigold, apple, pepper, walnut, plum and peach. Mineral resources include pyrite, limonite, coal mine, etc. Develop flue-cured tobacco, marigold, yellow sheep and pollution-free vegetables. In 2003, 1456 mu of flue-cured tobacco and 800 mu of marigold were planted in the township. Sichuan Oriental agricultural development company and Yuexi County People's Government jointly built a science and technology demonstration park in Dahua, planting nearly 1000 mu of American cherry, which set a model for modern agriculture in Yuexi and will also play a demonstration role in the adjustment of agricultural industrial structure in Yuexi.
