Bodybuilding township is located in the Yalong River. It has jurisdiction over four administrative villages: Xihe, luoju, Shuncheng and Huaping. It covers an area of 84.12 square kilometers. The Tibetan population accounts for 8.8%. The township government is 162 kilometers away from the county seat.

There are patches of Pinus yunnanensis and Sequoia in the territory. In 2004, the construction of Jinping power station, a national key project, led to the adjustment of the industrial structure of the whole township. Animal husbandry and vegetable planting industry developed greatly, and the output of surplus rural labor increased. In 2005, there were more than 200 migrant workers in the whole Township, bringing back more than 1.4 million yuan of funds.
