Wadu Township

Wadu township is under the jurisdiction of Butuo County, Liangshan Yi Autonomous Prefecture, Sichuan Province. Feite township was established in 1954, Xianfeng Township in 1962, commune in 1974, Wadu commune in 1981 and Wadu Township in 1984.

Wadu township is located in the north of Butuo County, Liangshan Prefecture, Sichuan Province, 25 kilometers away from the county. It is connected with eliping Township in the north, Lianbu Township and Jizhi Township in the northeast and Southeast, Huolie Township in the South and Shaluo Township in the West. It covers an area of 33.27 square kilometers.

Population Division

The population is 2148, including 1884 Yi people, accounting for 87.71% of the total population. It has jurisdiction over 4 villages and 15 villager groups, namely, feitie, Yimu, duole and Caiye. The township government is located in feitie village.

The origin of the name

Because there is a low-lying land and a small cave in the township government, it is named Wadu.

Historical evolution

On January 12, 2021, Sichuan Provincial People's government decided to abolish Wadu Township and establish Le'an town. The administrative areas of Le'an town are Caiye village of Wadu Township and Huolie village, feitu village, bori village, Ruopu village, Laozhen village, yuega village, Yiji village, yizuolaoha village and Poji village of Huolie township. The people's Government of Le'an town is located at 78 Bute Road, bute village. The former administrative areas of vanguard village, duole village and Yimu village in Wadu township are the administrative areas of erliping town. The people's Government of erliping town is located at 32 erliping Road, Luodi village.
