Muer Township

Muer township is a township under the jurisdiction of Butuo County, Liangshan Yi Autonomous Prefecture, Sichuan Province, covering an area of 27.6 square kilometers, with a population of 5000 and six village committees.

Muer township was established in 1953, changed to Muer commune in 1972, and restored to Muer Township in 1984.

On January 12, 2021, Sichuan Provincial People's government decided to abolish Muer Township and establish Jiudu town. The administrative area of gawu village in the former Muer township is the administrative area of Jiudu town. The people's Government of Jiudu town is located at No. 97, anluogu Road, anluogu village. The administrative areas of Buliu village, Yeer village, Yongge village, kuaizhi village and Caomu village in the former Muer township are under the jurisdiction of temuli town. The people's Government of temuli town is located at 111-1 putishang street, Xicheng community.

Muer township is located in the northwest of the county, 4 kilometers away from the county. There are roads to the countryside. It has jurisdiction over six village committees, namely, gawu, kuaizhi, Caomu, Buliu, Yongge, and Yeer.

The main agricultural products in Muer township are potato, corn, buckwheat and oats.
