Liugu Township

It was established in 1952, Hongwei commune in 1966, Liugu commune in 1981 and Liugu Township in 1984. It was originally under the jurisdiction of Qiaojia county, Zhaotong City, Yunnan Province, and later changed to Huidong County, Liangshan Yi Autonomous Prefecture, Sichuan Province.

On December 13, 2019, Sichuan Provincial People's Government approved Liangshan Prefecture to adjust the administrative divisions of some towns and townships in six counties (cities), including Xichang City (Chuanfu Civil Affairs [2019] No. 18): yeniuping township was abolished and its administrative area was put under the jurisdiction of Liugu Township, and Liugu Township People's government was stationed at No. 24 Liugu street.

Brief introduction of Liugu Township

Liugu township is located in the east of Huidong County. It faces Menggu town of Qiaojia county across the river in the East, Xinshan Township and Songping Township in the south, Xiaojie Township in the West and Luji Township in the north. It is 134 km away from the county government and covers an area of 38.92 square kilometers. Huatan Gan (Yanjing) highway runs through the township and ships cross Jinsha River to reach Qiaojia county in Yunnan Province. 134km away from Huidong County, the township government is located in group 2, Liugu village. The township is high in the West and low in the East, facing the Jinsha River. It belongs to the dry hot valley climate of Jinsha River, with rich products. The township covers an area of 38.92 square kilometers, with jurisdiction over Liugu, Xiduo, Baoshan, Pingshan, changmen and Sanjia villages and 30 villager groups. The main schools are Liugu central school, Pingshan primary school, sanjiacun primary school and Xiduo primary school. Liugu Township mainly produces sugarcane, sericulture, flue-cured tobacco, banana, pomegranate, loquat, mango and other vegetables and fruits. The area is rich in mineral resources, mainly gold and iron ore.

Economic situation of Liugu Township

In 2013, the total output value of agriculture, forestry and animal husbandry in the township was 125.4678 million yuan, an increase of 16.3%, including 59.5696 million yuan of agricultural output value, 7.7505 million yuan of forestry output value, and 52.7232 million yuan of animal husbandry output value; the per capita net income of farmers was 114.50 yuan; and the investment in fixed assets was 1.6 million yuan. grain mainly produces corn, wheat, potato, beans, etc. in 2013, the area of multiple cropping of grain was 13064 mu, and the output was 4640 tons. The main economic crops are sugarcane, sericulture and flue-cured tobacco. In 2013, 169 households, 1137 mu, produced 2983 cigarettes, and farmers' income was 3.7619 million yuan, accounting for 90% of the total. The comprehensive average price was 21.5 yuan / kg, and orange tobacco accounted for 98.2%. In 2013, 320000 mulberry plants were planted, 150000 were grafted, 2 new breeding rooms were built, 300 cardboard checkerboard clusters, 50 sets of silkworm platforms, 35 tons of sericulture compound fertilizer, 3810 silkworm rearing sheets, 43.5 kg per unit area yield, 3316 cocoons per unit area yield, 5.737 million yuan income of silkworm farmers, and 34.6 yuan per kg purchase price. 320 mu of sugarcane is planted, and 215 tons of sugarcane are produced in 2013. The density of animal epidemic prevention was 100%, the standard rate was 100%, the livestock stock was 26751, and 19820 were sold. The total meat output was 1332 tons. The policy was implemented and 163 sows were insured. Jinshajiang River is rich in colorful stones, mainly in yangjiatuo and Tianba dashatan.
