Jiuzhaigou Town, located in the west of Jiuzhaigou County, is 46km away from the county seat. It is a ethnic miscellaneous town with Tibetan as the main body. On June 19, 1998, Nanping County was renamed Jiuzhaigou County and Jiuzhaigou town was renamed zhangza town.

Jiuzhaigou Town, located in the west of Jiuzhaigou County, is 46km away from the county seat. It is a ethnic miscellaneous town with Tibetan as the main body. When the township was withdrawn and merged in 1992, Longkang Township and tazangxiang were combined into Jiuzhaigou town. On June 19, 1998, Nanping County was renamed Jiuzhaigou County, Jiuzhaigou town was renamed zhangza Town, and it was named as zhangza village where the town government was located. It is connected with Baihe Natural Reserve in the East, Zhangla District of Songpan County in the south is bounded by gonglanling, Daliu Township in the west, and huanlagou in Heihe Township and qianghegou in Lingjiang Township in the north. The geographical coordinates are 33o02 "to 33o21" in the north, 103o38 "30" to 104o03 "40" in the East, covering an area of 1305.92km2 and an elevation of 2089m. The Jiuhuan highway passes through the border.

On June 19, 1998, Nanping County was renamed Jiuzhaigou County, Jiuzhaigou town was renamed zhangza Town, and was named as zhangza village, the resident of the town government.

Jiuzhaigou town has 13 administrative villages, 19 village groups, 4288 households, 2360 rural employees, water, roads and radio and television, and 7 villages have telephone. There are water plants, post and Telecommunications stations, telecommunication branches, Agricultural Bank sub branches, credit cooperatives, grain stations, radio and television stations, 3 health centers, 1 middle school, 10 primary schools, 1 kindergarten and 2 village level power stations.

Jiuzhaigou town has three laurels, namely "World Natural Heritage", "World Biosphere Reserve", "Green Globe 21", Jiuzhaigou scenic spot, Jiuzhai National Forest Park Ganhaizi tourist area and dagi temple.

Get honor

On December 18th, 2019, it was awarded the first "Sichuan characteristic climate town".

On July 29, 2020, it was reconfirmed as a national health township (county) in 2019.

In September 2020, it will be selected as the second batch of cultural tourism characteristic towns in Sichuan Province.

On February 19, 2021, it was selected into the list of "advanced villages and towns for Rural Revitalization in Sichuan Province in 2020".
