In 2000, the original Donghuan street in Gulou District was abolished, and the two neighborhood committees of Yugou and Liuwan and the seven administrative villages of Weizi, qianpotao, houpotao, Zhaozhuang, zhongwangzhuang, dongwangzhuang and Qiaotou under the jurisdiction of Xiadian Township in Gulou District were merged to form a new Donghuan street, which was managed by Jinshanqiao economic and Technological Development Zone. At the end of 2008, it covers an area of 3.7 square kilometers and has a population of 23600. It has jurisdiction over four communities: Weizi, Zhaozhuang, menggou and Liuwan. The office is located in Xiadian road. The original Xiadian township is located in the northeast of Gulou District, 4 kilometers away from the city center. The Beijing Hangzhou canal flows through the countryside, and the national roads 104 and 307 pass through it. It was originally subordinate to the Second District, Zifang district and Huancheng district. In 1958, it belonged to mengjiagou Township, a suburb, and later to Huancheng commune. In 1963, it was divided into Shiqiao commune, sunweizi commune, Pantao commune and Xiadian commune. In 1965, it was merged into Xiadian commune. In 1983, it was built in Xiadian Township, a suburb. In 1993, it was assigned to Gulou District. In 1996, it covers an area of 29.6 square kilometers and has a population of 30000. It has 12 administrative villages: Dian, Wafang, qianpantao, houpantao, qiaonantou, dongwangzhuang, zhongwangzhuang, taolou, sunweizi, xiaozhaozhuang, Liuwan and mengjiagou. Jinshanqiao economic development zone is located in the territory. In 1986, a large number of precious cultural relics were unearthed from the Han Tombs in nandongshan, Shiqiao village. Liuwan village was once the place where Surabaya flowed. In Song Dynasty, it was one of the "three floods" of Surabaya. Qin Shihuang once salvaged Zhou Ding there.
