The story of suppressing bandits and the seven martyrs of gangjiashan
The fighting took place after the 553 regiment of the people's Liberation Army entered Yingjing in 1950. On February 23, 1950, the 553 regiment of the people's Liberation Army (PLA) was ordered to wipe out the bandits in the county who were burning, killing and looting the remnants of the Kuomintang in Hu zongnan, Xichang. After annihilating a group of bandits and killing the bandit leader Li Yuanbin, Liu Yuzhong (24 years old, Communist Party member, from Jianguo County, Hebei Province, joined the army in 1948), Liu Banghan (28 years old, Communist Party member, from Huoxian County, Shanxi Province, joined the army in 1948), Wang MA (19 years old, Communist Party member, from Renqiu County, Hebei Province, joined the army in 1948), and Luo Yu (soldier) (24 years old, from Huixian County, Gansu Province); Wang Tianbao (23 years old, from Pingyao County, Shanxi Province); Ma Baosan (23 years old, from Ying County, Shaanxi Province, who joined the army in 1949); Zhang Xiuhua (CPC member, from Yichuan County, Henan Province, who joined the army in 1949); a total of 7 people went to Mingjia Village (now martyrs Village) to search for bandits. Because of the complex terrain and unfamiliar roads, they lost contact with the main forces and were killed by more than 200 bandits After several hours of fierce fighting with the enemy, the seven warriors finally smashed all their weapons and died because they were outnumbered. The heroic spirit of the seven warriors greatly shocked the bandits. When our reinforcements arrived, the bandits were either killed or killed. After the seven warriors died, their bodies were buried in gangjiashan. In 1952, the people's Congress of Ying county decided to build a revolutionary martyr memorial tower in the county town of Town God's Temple. The villages and villages at the expense of the martyrs were transformed into martyrs' villages and martyrs' villages. The memorial tower was moved to xiaopingshan in March 1977 and renamed the martyrs' cemetery. The remains of seven martyrs were also moved to the martyrs' cemetery.
