Miao An Xiang

Miao'an township is a township in the south of Xuanhan County, Dazhou City, Sichuan Province. It is adjacent to Tianbao Township in the East, Baishu town in the west, Panshi township of Tongchuan District in the south, Juntang town and Donglin Township in the north. Miao'an street is 20km away from Dazhou city (Sanliping, nanwai of Daxian county) and 25km away from Xuanhan county. It has a total area of 28.5 square kilometers, an average altitude of 750 meters and a population of 7039 (2019). It has jurisdiction over seven village committees, namely, BAMIAO, Dongzi, nanyachang, Longtanhe and Shengguan. It was built in the late Qing Dynasty. In 1932, it set up miao'an Township, changed to miao'an commune in 1958, and restored to miao'an Township in 1984. In 1997, every ten days 3,6,9 was changed to every ten days 1,4,7.

After the adjustment of village organization system in 2004, it now governs five villagers' committees and 29 villagers' groups, including BAMIAO (the former BAMIAO village and Jiangshan village merged), Dongzi, nanyachang, Longtanhe, Shengguan (the former mutang village and Shengguan village merged), and established Long'an community in December 2010.

The village is rich in forest resources, with a forest coverage rate of 50%. Farmers in the village mainly rely on planting and breeding industry, which is a typical agricultural township in mountainous areas.

Miao'an township has made great progress in infrastructure construction and economic development: the streets have taken on a new look, and people's awareness has gradually increased. Pan (SHI) Miao (an) highway has been hardened in 2007, which leads directly to Dazhou city in half an hour; Dong (Lin) Miao (an) highway was hardened in October 2009, which takes about 40 minutes to reach Xuanhan county through Donglin township; Tian (Bao) Miao (an) highway was also hardened and completed in November 2009, which changes the backward situation of "dust on sunny days and mud on rainy days" for more than 30 years, and cement road leads directly to Tian'an Baoxiang, Tiansheng Town, Qili town. The transportation hub extending in all directions has brought unlimited business opportunities to the people of the township.

Miao'an Township mainly produces rice, wheat, corn, potato and rapeseed. The main cash crops are watermelon, tobacco, fruit and zha'ergen. The characteristic products of miao'an watermelon, miao'an crisp red plum and miao'an zha'ergen are well-known in Dazhou and exported to Chengdu and Chongqing. In order to achieve the development goals of "ecological sightseeing agriculture demonstration area" and "ten thousand mu billion yuan fruit industry belt", miao'an will be built into a flower and fruit mountain with Bashan characteristics of "watching flowers in spring, tasting melons in summer, picking fruits in autumn and enjoying snow in winter", so as to let more people of insight know miao'an, understand miao'an and feel miao'an, and enhance the communication and cooperation between miao'an and the outside world. On April 1, 2012, the Party committee and government of MiaoAn Township held the "singing MiaoAn flower and fruit mountain" art performance (the first Plum Blossom Festival) to invite friends from all over the world to enjoy the colorful plum flowers and local customs.

Miao'an township's cultural and educational development is more prominent. The Central School of miao'an township has strict management, positive school spirit, dedicated teachers and hard-working students. For 12 consecutive years, it has ranked first in the same level schools in the county in terms of high school entrance examination results, providing a large number of reserve talents for the society.

In recent years, a large number of students from nearby villages and towns have studied in the school, which has been praised by Party committees and governments at all levels, and has been well received by people from all walks of life.

In August 2018, BAMIAO village of MiaoAn township was rated as "Sichuan's top ten industrial prosperous villages".

In 2020, it won the honor of "advanced villages and towns in Implementing Rural Revitalization Strategy in Sichuan Province in 2019".

On July 29, 2020, it was named "2017-2019 cycle National Health township" by the National Patriotic Health Campaign Committee.
