Guqiao street is located in the urban-rural fringe of Huaying City, Sichuan Province, 2.5km away from the center of the city. It is adjacent to Huaying Mountain in the East, Yingcheng City in the north, Qujiang River in the West and Yanghe town in the south.

It was established in October 2004. On September 28, 2004, the people's Government of Sichuan Province (No. 47 document of Sichuan civil administration) approved that the administrative areas of five villages in Mingyue Town, namely, Guozi, Tongbao, zhengjiazui, Guanyinyan and tuxi, should be incorporated into Shuanghe town. The establishment of Shuanghe town was abolished, and the Administrative Region under it implemented the sub district office management system. Three sub district offices, Shuanghe, Hualong and Guqiao, were set up as the agencies of the municipal Party committee and the municipal government. Guqiao office governs 9 administrative villages, covering an area of 23.1 square kilometers, with a population of 25000, of which the non-agricultural population is 8100.
