Kwun Tong Town

Kwun Tong town is located in the Midwest of Qianfeng district. It is adjacent to Daishi town and Hucheng town in the East, Lushi town and Yongxing Town in Huaying City in the south, Hu'an town in the West and Dalong town across Qujiang River in the north, covering an area of 49.27 square kilometers. The town has three offices, 35 administrative villages and 258 village groups, with a total population of 25196 (2017). Guanyintang, the seat of the town government, is 11 kilometers away from the seat of Guang'an District government.

Evolution of organizational system

Guantang town has a long history. Guantang town is often called "Guanyin pond" because it is said that the goddess of Guanyin is here to help the people. It is named after Guanyin temple. Guantang township was established in 1949, changed to commune in 1958, and restored to township in 1984. In 1992, the town was established, and Santai Township and Shilian Township were merged. On February 22, 2013, with the approval of the State Council, the former Guang'an District was divided into two parts and ruled by the river. Qianfeng District of Guang'an City was established, which belongs to Guantang town.

The town is a shallow hill flat terrain, low in the East and high in the West. Yingzuiyan is the highest, 416 meters above sea level, while Qujiang River is the lowest, 214 meters above sea level. Qujiang River flows through 5 villages in the town from north to south, about 15 km long.

The annual average temperature is 17.4 ~ 17.8 degrees, the annual precipitation is 1000 mm, and the frost free period is more than 310 days.

Economics

Located in the Midwest of Qianfeng District, 5km away from the urban area, it is a provincial pilot town. With rich land resources, it mainly produces rice, wheat, Zanthoxylum bungeanum, corn, rape and vegetables. At present, Zanthoxylum bungeanum in Guantang is famous both inside and outside the province. Guantang town has superior geographical conditions. Guangqian road runs through the whole town. Village roads crisscross and extend in all directions. The traffic and communication are very convenient. The town has more than 160 kilometers of village roads and 8000 program-controlled telephones. In October 2007, Guantang town was listed as the pilot area for overall planning of urban and rural development by Guang'an City and District.

The town's cultivated land area is 32041 mu, 0.78 mu per capita. It belongs to the gray brown purple soil of shangshaximiao formation. It mainly produces rice, wheat and rape, as well as Hu Dou and pea. Its sidelines are mainly pig raising and silkworm rearing.

In 2002, the total agricultural output value of the town was 64.63 million yuan, the total grain output was 16840 tons, 21000 pigs were sold, the per capita net income of farmers was 2560 yuan, the total output value of township enterprises was 110 million yuan, and the financial revenue was 3 million yuan.

The sericulture of Guantang town is in the forefront of the whole region. There are more than 200 large silkworm rearing households, with annual seed production of more than 2500 and annual cocoon production of more than 70 tons.

In accordance with the business model of "company plus farmers, company connecting market and market guiding production", Guantang town has built 22000 Mu pepper base, which has entered the initial fruit stage.

In Guantang Town, there is a paper mill with an annual output of 2000 tons, a power station with an annual power generation of 6 million tons, as well as phosphate fertilizer plant, iron casting plant, small oil and other enterprises, with an annual output value of over 100 million yuan.

Nanchong Qianfeng highway traverses the whole territory. The town has achieved the village road, mileage of 56 kilometers, convenient transportation.

With superior geographical conditions, Kwun Tong has been upgraded from a municipal pilot town to a provincial pilot town. With an area of 1.5 square kilometers and a non-agricultural population of 1500, small towns have complete infrastructure, perfect functions, beautiful environment and prosperous market, which are good places for people to invest.
