Taiping Town

Taiping town belongs to Yao'an County, Yunnan Province, with a total area of 191.66 square kilometers and a total population of 8483. It is located in the south of Yao'an County, bordering Fengtun Township and Qianchang town in Mouding County in the East, Longchuan town in Nanhua County in the south, mixing Township and Guantun Township in the west, and Renhe Town in the north. Dragonfly River and nanyong highway pass through the territory from south to north.

Taiping town is located in the south of Yao'an County, 196 kilometers away from Kunming, the provincial capital, and 64 kilometers away from Chuxiong City. It borders Fengtun town and Qianchang town in Mouding County in the East, Longchuan town in Nanhua County in the south, mixing town and Guantun town in the west, and Dongchuan town in the north. Dragonfly River and nanyong highway pass through the territory from south to north.

Taiping town has the highest altitude of 2897 meters and the lowest altitude of 1928 meters. The average annual temperature is 15.2 ℃, the average frost free period is 230 days, and the average annual rainfall is 800 mm. Grain crops mainly produce corn, rice, buckwheat and barnyardgrass. The main mineral deposits are gold, silver, lead and sulfur, but the grade is not high; it is rich in building materials such as adzuki bean stone and sand washing. The main agricultural products are garlic, big white kidney bean, yam, lily, aconite, wild bacteria; economic fruits are walnut, chestnut, pear, pepper. The vegetation is good, and the forest coverage rate is 67.6%.

Nanhu and Wenfeng pagoda scenic spots in Taiping town are 4km away from nanyong highway. The Nanhu Lake is rippling with blue waves. Wenfeng pagoda is reflected in the mountains and waters. The peaks rise, surrounded by mountains, flowing fast, and the reflection belt is left and right. They meet in front of each other. Tarukuibi is a famous scenic spot in Yao'an. It was built in 1569 A.D. and has a history of more than 430 years. It is not only a scenic spot, but also a symbol of Yao'an's ancient culture. It is one of the first batch of key cultural relics protection units in our prefecture. Sanfeng mountain is also known as Bijia mountain and guomiban mountain. It is the source of dragonfly River, Wenlong River and Longchuan River, as well as the upper reaches of Jinsha River, with an altitude of 2897 meters, the highest peak in Yao'an. There are three peaks in front of each other. There are wells in the middle of the peak. On a sunny day, when chickens crow, you can see the sunlight. When you look at it, you can see the height of the top in the East, the majestic and beautiful point in the west, the BOLUO and Pumen in the south, and the Tanhua jade in the north. It is the highest mountain in Chu county. There are yunwujing, which means rain when the clouds come out, and Sanfeng immortal cultivation relics. Sanfeng mountain is not only the first of the mountains, with green trees and charming scenery, but also the Western foot guarded by Leshan Giant Buddha. It is high and immortal, which makes it even more famous. Standing at the top of the three peaks, you can have a panoramic view of the mountains. You can see the height of chela head in the East, the beauty of Cang in the west, Fangshan and Tieling in the north, BOLUO and Pumen in the south. There is Zhang Sanfeng's thatched cottage in Zhongfeng. It is said that it is the place where Sanfeng people practice. Predecessors built Sanfeng temple on the top of the mountain for people to worship.
