Nonghui Street
Nonghui street was built in the second year of Kaibao (969) of song Taizu. It has a history of more than one thousand years because the river of nongxi flows into Qujiang River and detours here. Nonghui street was founded in November 1998. It is the political, economic, cultural and tourist center of Guang'an District. It is adjacent to Qujiang River in the East, Guangfu street in the south, Zhongqiao street in the west, and Beichen street in the north. It covers an area of 3.42 square kilometers. It has jurisdiction over 6 community neighborhood committees, 49 resident groups, and the neighborhood office is located in Guangzhou No. 31, west section of Hongzhou Avenue, an District.
Evolution of organizational system
The town was built in the Northern Song Dynasty. It is named after two rivers, Gu Nong (today's nongxi River) and Hui (east section of Qujiang River). In the second year of Kaibao (969) of the Northern Song Dynasty, Guang'an army was set up and moved to Qujiang County. Guang'an Prefecture in Yuan Dynasty, Guang'an Prefecture in Ming Dynasty and Guang'an County in 1913 ruled this area. In 1949, it was a South Town and a North Town. Chengguan town was changed in 1958. In 1981, Geng Nong returned to the town. In 1998, Nonghui town was divided into Nonghui street, Beichen street and Kuige street.
