Longgui Township

Old town name. See Shuangqiao town for details. It is 47 kilometers away from Nanchong City. It covers an area of 21.22 square kilometers, has 8013 mu of cultivated land, governs 13 communities, and has a total population of 11276 (2017).

After decades of development, the infrastructure construction of Longgui township has been greatly improved. At present, there are 100% villages and 95% community roads, and the hardening rate of village roads is 65%. The cement pavement of Longgui Shuangqiao highway has been laid and put into use, and the main road from Longgui to Lijia is also being declared by the township party committee and government.

Lanzhou Chongqing railway is planned to run through villages 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10 and 12 of the township, with stations close to the township government, which has great development potential.

Evolution of organizational system

Longgui Township, formerly known as Longgui temple, was divided into several villages from Lijia Shuangqiao in 1952 to form Longgui township. In July 1954, Longgui township was withdrawn and merged into Lijia and Shuangqiao. In March 1957, Longgui township was established. In April 1992, Longgui township was withdrawn and merged into Shuangqiao Town, and Longgui office was established. In October 1996, Longgui township was separated from Shuangqiao town In 2019, Yongfeng town and Longgui Township were abolished, and their administrative areas were put under the jurisdiction of Shuangqiao town. The people's Government of Shuangqiao town was stationed at No. 1, government street.

According to the fifth census in 2000, there were 9691 people in Longgui Township, Shunqing district. in the sixth census in 2010, there were 8266 people in Shunqing District, and in 2017, the total population was 11276.

Economics

Longgui township is a traditional agricultural township, which mainly produces rice, wheat, sweet potato, corn, peanuts and rapeseed, and its breeding industry is mainly silkworm and pig. With the support of the existing conditions, the number of labor export is increasing, and the characteristic breeding industry is flourishing. The annual labor income provides financial support for the development of the township. The characteristic breeding of Rex Rabbit in 1 village, bamboo mouse in 5 villages, layer chicken in 11 villages and 12 villages has formed a scale and gradually plays a leading role in the surrounding people. on the premise of ensuring food production, 3000 mu of sericulture base and 200 mu of walnut dry fruit base have been formed, and 2300 mu of farmland has been returned to forest according to the requirements of the higher authorities.
