Huatou town is located in the western mountainous area of Jiajiang County, Leshan City, Sichuan Province, 50 kilometers away from the county seat, covering an area of 43.65 square kilometers. It is adjacent to longtuo Township in the East, Taoyuan Township of Hongya County and Chuanzhu township of Emeishan City in the south, Maliu Township in the West and Xiema Township in the north. With an average altitude of 548 meters, it is a typical hilly terrain.

The total population is 8564 (2017), and the per capita net income of farmers is 11845 yuan.

On September 4, 2019, Sichuan Provincial People's Government approved the adjustment of township administrative divisions in Jiajiang County, Leshan City: Maliu Township and Xiema Township were abolished, and their administrative areas were put under the jurisdiction of huatou Town, and huatou Town People's government was stationed at No. 4 Binhe street.

The buildings in huatou town can be divided into ancient town and Xinchang, which are all lattice concrete buildings and have no mountain characteristics. Villagers say that there are still people who make paper by hand in Tangbian village on the mountain three kilometers away from the town. The transportation to the ancient town is also convenient: Chengdu to Jiajiang is a highway, and Jiajiang to huatou is also a cement road. Before 2014, there are generally two roads to enter huatou Town, the first one is Mucheng, Qianfoyan back mountain Yingjiang Township, Jiajiang; the other one is Shuangfu Town, Emei, around Mucheng to huatou. With the opening of Leya expressway, you can go directly from jiajiangnan to Mucheng in 5 minutes and then to huatou, saving about 20 minutes.
