Historical evolution

Cangxi County governs the town. The late Qing Dynasty belongs to Yuanba town. It was named Songle Township in 1951, changed its name to Dongyue Township in 1955, changed to commune in 1958, restored to township in 1984, merged with Wenlin township to build Yuedong town in 1992, and restored to Wenlin Township in 1994.
