Xiangquan Township

Xiangquan township is located in the southeastern part of Beichuan Qiang Autonomous County, Southeast and Jiangyou perfume Town, including the addition of the town, West connected with Yongan Town, North in Tong Kou Town connected, Yong Tong Highway across the whole country. The town is 30 kilometers away from the new county seat of Beichuan Qiang Autonomous County, 15 kilometers away from Jiangyou City, and 40 kilometers away from Mianyang City. The township covers an area of 45.18 square kilometers, governs 12 villages, 1 community, 59 villager groups (communities), with a total population of 7993 (2017). The township has 3471 mu of arable land and 19194 mu of forest land. The township is a deep Hill landform with an altitude of 541-1480m. The terrain is high in the West and low in the East. It has a subtropical monsoon climate with an average temperature of 16.5 degrees Celsius and a forest coverage rate of 59.5%. There are abundant tourist resources in the countryside, such as the perfume lake, the pine forest park, the fragrant Jiangwan Qiang ethnic customs garden and so on. The reserves of mineral resources in the rural area are large, only the reserves of high-quality limestone are more than 1 billion cubic meters. The mining area for decorative stone is 5 square kilometers, and the ore quality is good, with an average calcium oxide content of 54% - 56%. It can produce marble plate, special-shaped stone, mosaic, process stone, light (heavy) calcium carbonate and other products. In 2010, it was awarded the title of "China beige marble town" by China Stone Association. In the same year, AQSIQ officially approved Beichuan Beihuang marble as a product of geographical indication protection.

In December 2019, Mianyang Municipal People's government decided to abolish Xiangquan township.

Historical evolution

Beichuan County governs townships. Guangming township was established in 1950, Longfeng Township in 1951, commune in 1958 and Xiangquan Township in 1984. Located in the southeast of the county, 15.5km away from the county. It covers an area of 45.18 square kilometers and has a population of 7993 (2017). Tongkou Yong'an highway passes through. in December 2019, Mianyang Municipal People's government decided to abolish Xiangquan township.

Economics

Agricultural "one belt and four bases": 1 million ecological native chicken breeding belt under the forest, 1000 mu kiwi fruit base, 1000 mu Xiangfei jujube base, 1000 mu Alpine vegetable base, 1000 mu walnut base industry: the stone industry concentration area has formed a stone industry chain mainly composed of beige marble plate, anisotropic stone, industrial calcium oxide and process stone. There are 13 enterprises in the park. Tourism: "one bay and three highlights": xiangjiangwan pension industry project, qingxihe Bamboo Sea project, Guangming Village and Zishan village rural leisure farm.
