Liujia town

Liujia Town, located in the south of Rong County, Zigong City, Sichuan Province, is famous for producing high-quality Ponkan. In the 1960s, new Ponkan was introduced, and a base of 30000 Mu was established, which was expanded every year. In 1996, Rong County was listed as the national quality Ponkan base by the national expert group. In 2000, Liujia town was named by the citrus quality inspection center of the Ministry of agriculture and awarded the title of high-quality Ponkan base, with an annual output of more than 100 million jin. In 2013, it was selected as one of the top ten famous towns in southern Sichuan by West China Metropolis Daily.

General situation of villages and towns

Liujia has an area of 82.68 square kilometers, a population of 26421 (2017), a cultivated area of 35564 Mu and a usable area of 55000 mu. It is a suitable production area for high-quality fruits and grains with gentle terrain, fertile land, abundant accumulated temperature, sufficient rainfall and convenient irrigation. Liujia town is the base town of high-quality Ponkan in China. In 2007, 33000 mu of orange orchards in Liujia town gained another bumper harvest, with a total output of 47.5 million kg. As the town Party committee and government have increased the promotion of pollution-free technology and strengthened the technical training of orchard management, the total output of Ponkan in 2008 increased by 10 million kg compared with that in 2007, and the proportion of superior grade fruit also accounted for more than 70%, with sweet and delicious pulp. In order to promote the sustainable development of Liujia Ponkan, the town Party committee and government have increased the transformation of the old orchard. In 2008, 640 mu of new variety orchards have been promoted, and "Wuhuo, Chunjian, Taitian Ponkan" and other varieties have been introduced. It is planned to develop continuously at the rate of 2000 mu per year. Finally, Liujia Ponkan will be listed in turn in early, middle and late maturity, enriching the market and promoting the income of fruit farmers.

According to the requirements, we will complete the construction of a new rural demonstration village (Wazi Village), "two belt" construction, 500 mu of fruit export base, 1000 mu of agricultural standardized production demonstration area, 500 mu of newly developed fruits, 500 mu of high pile grafting fine varieties, and establish a Ponkan professional cooperative and a pig breeding professional cooperative for agricultural industrialization. A new 20.2km oil Road (including gravel road) will be built.

Liujia middle school is located in Liujia town. Founded in 1981, the school covers an area of 24 mu. There are many valuable trees such as runnan and gingko in the school.
