Nanbaoshan Town, a new town, was established in November 2015 after the division adjustment of the original Youzha Township and Nanbao township. It is 25 kilometers away from the urban area of Qionglai city. The town covers an area of 147.48 square kilometers, bordering Pingle town in the East, Shuikou Town in the north, Huojing town and Gaohe town in the south, Dachuan town in Lushan County and Huashuiwan town in Dayi County in the west, with a total number of 5316 households and a population of 19147. It governs 13 villages.

In December 2019, Chengdu Municipal People's government decided to put the administrative areas of Chaban village, Jinjia village, Changle Village and Dahu village in nanbaoshan town under the jurisdiction of Huojing town.

In July 2020, it won the honorary title of national health Township from 2017 to 2019.

The lowest altitude is 700m, and the highest peak Yuling mountain is 2025 meters above sea level (the highest peak in Qionglai city). There are: Baozhu Mountain Grand Canyon, jiangjunmiao cave group, jiangjunmiao Forest Park, Jiuding Mountain (known as Mengshan in ancient times, because it is connected with Mengding Mountain), Yanjing hot spring, Yulin mountain, Mituo Temple (built in 1413), Wanfo top natural funnel, chengmenlou Yanzi cave group, and Yuantong The bridge (Tiesuo bridge is 120 meters long and 90 meters high) and the newly built wooden ladder, Zhitai Qiang village and Jinhua tea garden after the May 12 earthquake.

The combination of Youzha Township and Nanbao township can not only do a better job in the resettlement work and realize the overall coordinated operation of the three resettlement villages, but also give play to the characteristics of Qiang culture, realize the organic combination of Qiang culture and ecological resources, and promote the rapid development and growth of nanbaoshan tourism economic belt. It is also conducive to unified planning, integration of resources, highlighting the advantages of ecological resources, striving to build nanbaoshan tourism economic belt, and accelerating the formation of a new growth point of tourism economy in nanbaoshan.

In July 2020, it won the honorary title of national health Township from 2017 to 2019.
