Wujiazhuang town

Wujiazhuang town is located in the loess hilly area 32 kilometers southwest of Zhongyang County. The total land area of the town is 163.95 square kilometers, with 245920.2 mu of land, including 42620 mu of cultivated land. It has jurisdiction over 13 village committees, 44 natural villages, 3104 households and 13102 people. In 2006, the total rural economic income of the town was 17.72 million yuan, including 9.83 million yuan of agricultural income and 1210 yuan of per capita net income of farmers.

It mainly produces wheat, corn, sorghum, millet, potato and pumpkin. There are roads to the county. In recent years, the Party committee and government of Wujiazhuang town have made great efforts to develop leading industries and industrial enterprises. The leading industry is "high-quality walnut". The new and old walnut orchards in the town cover an area of more than 20000 mu, with a per capita area of 2 mu. The territory is rich in coal resources, with an annual output of 450000 tons of Zhangjiazhuang Coal Co., Ltd. and an annual output of 3.5 million tons of Rongxin company gaojiazhuang mine.

Historical evolution

In 1949, it belonged to the Second District of Zhongyang, and in 1952, it belonged to the Sixth District. It belonged to Jinjiazhuang Township in 1953 and Wujiazhuang Township in 1956. It belonged to Jinjiazhuang commune in 1959, Wujiazhuang commune in 1961 and a town in 1984. In 2001, Zhangjiazhuang township was incorporated into the city.
