Wufeng town

Wufeng town is under the jurisdiction of Jintang County, Chengdu City, Sichuan Province. It is located in the south of Jintang County, along the banks of Tuojiang River. It is 48 km away from Chengdu City, 45 km away from Zhaozhen Town, 42 km away from Longquan Economic Development Zone, and 37 km away from Jianyang city. The town is adjacent to Baiguo town and Hongyuan township of Jianyang City in the East, Guihua Township and Lingxian township of Jianyang City in the south, Qingshui township of Longquanyi District in the west, and Renhe township of Baiguo town and Qingbaijiang District in the north. The town is located between 104 ° 25 ′ 08 ″ - 104 ° 31 ′ 51 ″ E and 30 ° 35 ′ 21 ″ - 30 ° 40 ′ 53 ″ n. The highest altitude is 873.7m and the lowest 411.5m.

Wufengxi ancient town, officially known as Wufeng Town, is located on the Bank of Tuojiang River in the middle of Longquan Mountain range. It belongs to Jintang County, Chengdu City. It is named because of its mountain peak, which stretches from north to South and East, and its peak is as high as five. The five ancient streets are also named Jinfeng, Qingfeng, Yufeng, Baifeng and Xiaofeng.

On July 29, 2020, the National Patriotic Health Association decided to name Wufeng town as a national health Township in the period of 2017-2019.

Population nationality

The town covers an area of 61.04 square kilometers, with 20318 mu of arable land, including 2949 mu of farmland, 17369 mu of soil, and 38900 mu of mountainous area suitable for forestry.

In 2001, the total population of the town was 29227, including 26980 agricultural population. Male: 15473, female: 13754. It is one of the important towns inhabited by Han people. There are four ethnic minorities, 15 people. Among them, there are 4 Hui, 8 Tibetan, 2 Yi and 1 Qiang.

History and culture

Wufeng town is one of the ten ancient towns in Chengdu. According to the county annals, it is named because the mountains in the territory are extremely crooked, from north to South and East, and there are five peaks, which are as high as the Phoenix in the sky. The five ancient streets are also named Jinfeng, Qingfeng, Yufeng, Baifeng and Xiaofeng. Popo street is connected with half of the streets. There are rich and unique folk houses in Qing Dynasty, and Nanhua palace in Guansheng palace is magnificent and harmonious. During the Han and Tang Dynasties, it was an important water wharf in the upper reaches of the Tuojiang River. There were four ferries: zhahudu, mingyangdu, jinniudu and luobadu. During the peak period, more than 100 vessels transported food and handmade goods from Western Sichuan to Chongqing every day. Salt, fruits and foreign goods were transported from Chongqing, Yibin and Luzhou, and then transported to Chengdu 50 kilometers away for sale. The town of Baimao was set up in Song Dynasty, and the court was set up in Kangxi of Qing Dynasty. After the changes of times, this town is only in the mountains and rivers, enjoying peace and leisure. Now it is famous for the sample of ancient towns in mountainous areas around Chengdu basin and the hometown of the father and daughter of Mr. He Lin, a famous Chinese philosopher and Professor He Meiying, Secretary of the Party committee of Tsinghua University. According to the plan, the disappeared plank road, crossing tower, gate, gallery bridge, Wangye temple and Wenchang palace will be restored, and dams will be built on the Huangshui River to let it flow back into the mountains and surround it with green water.

Wufeng has a variety of immigrant cultures. Jiangxi guild hall is the place where the descendants of the Hakkas in Jiangxi gather. It also retains the title of "old watch". The ancient ruins of the town include Shenggong, Wangye temple, Huosheng temple, Nanhua palace and binglingdian, which is 1.5 km away from the town. Binglingdian was originally named binglingzhan. During the period of the Three Kingdoms, Liu Bei fought in the state of Wu, passing by Bingling, and planned to build a tomb here. However, Kong Ming disagreed, so he built a shop and took up Liu Bei's tomb. In the 14th year of the reign of Emperor Kangxi, a disciple of Yunding mountain named Prince traveled here. He realized that there was some aura here, and built Bingling temple here. Guansheng palace and Nanhua Palace are listed as county-level cultural relics protection units.

Wufeng town is characterized by deep Hill landform, with red and yellow soil, which is suitable for planting a variety of crops. Tuojiang River flows through the territory and has rich sand and stone resources. Wufeng sand and stone has been designated as the key construction materials by the state for more than 60 years. Chengdu Chongqing railway passes through the mirror. Wufengxi and honghuatang railway stations are respectively located in Honghua village and Luoba village. The territory has four distinct seasons. The annual average temperature is 17 ℃, the precipitation is 924 mm, the sunshine is 1241 hours, the annual frost free period is 290 days, and the climate is mild.
