Youshuihe town
Youshuihe Town, subordinate to Youyang Tujia and Miao Autonomous County of Chongqing, is located in the southeast of Youyang Tujia and Miao Autonomous County. It is adjacent to Daxi Township and Haiyang township of Xiushan in the East and Southeast, Mawang town in the southwest and Youwu town in the northeast. It is 89 kilometers away from Youyang Tujia and Miao Autonomous County Government, with a total area of 119.94 square kilometers.
In 1415, Youyang set up the administrative system of "Jiuxi and shibadong". Youshuihe town was one of the nine rivers. In November 2011, it was renamed youshuihe town from Houxi town. By the end of 2018, the registered residence population in the town of 19937 people was in the town. As of June 2020, youshuihe town has jurisdiction over 7 administrative villages, and the town people's government is located in Houxi village.
The main food crops in youshuihe town are rice, corn, sweet potato and soybean; the main animal husbandry is raising pigs, goats and broilers. In 2018, youshuihe town has 11 industrial enterprises and 18 comprehensive stores or supermarkets with a business area of more than 50 square meters.
History of construction
In the 13th year of Yongle in Ming Dynasty (1415), Youyang set up the administrative system of "Jiuxi and shibadong", which was one of the nine rivers.
In 1917, it was called Si Lu township. In 1924, Shilu township was changed to Houxi township.
In April 1952, Houxi township was divided into Houxi Township and Shatian township.
In May 1953, Houxi and Shatian were divided into Houxi, Baiguo, Changyuan and Caijia.
In August 1954, Houxi Township, Baiguo Township, Changyuan Township and Caijia Township were merged into Houxi township.
In May 1958, youshuihe township was changed into youshuihe commune.
In February 1961, youshuihe commune was divided into Dajiang commune, Houxi commune and Changyuan commune.
In February 1983, Dajiang, Houxi and Changyuan communes merged into Houxi township.
In August 2001, Baizhu Township and Houxi Township were merged into Houxi town.
In November 2011, Houxi town was renamed youshuihe town.
