Xialu Street

Xialu street, subordinate to Shizhu Tujia Autonomous County of Chongqing, is located in the southwest of Shizhu Tujia Autonomous County, adjacent to Wan'an street and Liutang Township in the East, Fengdu County in the west, Sanxing Township in the south, and Daxie town in the north, covering an area of 158 square kilometers.

In the early Ming Dynasty, Xialu street was in the first place in Dongyuan; in 2015, Xialu town was changed into Xialu street. By the end of 2019, Xialu street has a total population of 42163. As of June 2020, Xialu street has jurisdiction over 4 communities and 8 administrative villages, and its sub district office is located at No. 1 Jianzhen street, Hongyan community.

History of construction

In the early Ming Dynasty, when Nanbin county was withdrawn, it was assigned to Shizhu Xuanfu department, which was the first one in Dongyuan.

In 1930, Xialu town was established. In 1935, Shizhu County was divided into three districts and Xialu into two. In 1940, it was changed to Xialu township.

In September 1958, Xialu, Tianquan and Dabai townships merged to build Xialu commune.

In January 1961, Xialu township was changed into Xialu commune.

In November 1983, Xialu commune was changed into Xialu township.

In July 2001, Xialu and Jinzhang townships were abolished and Xialu town was established.

In 2015, Xialu town was abolished and Xialu street was established.
