Liangping Township
Liangping Township, subordinate to Wushan County of Chongqing, is located in the middle of Wushan County, bordering Sanxi Township in the East, Yangtze River in the south, Wuxia town in the west, xingziping forest farm and Jinping Township in the north. It is 22km away from Wushan County Government, with a total area of 130.9km2.
After 1949, Liangping township was the first district; in April 1984, it was changed from Liangping commune to Liangping Township again. By the end of 2018, the population of two Pingxiang registered residence was 23067. As of June 2020, Liangping village has jurisdiction over 11 administrative villages, and the Township People's government is stationed in Shilong village community 1.
The main food crops in Liangping township are wheat and corn; the main animal husbandry is raising pigs, sheep and poultry. In 2018, Liangping Township had 3 industrial enterprises and 21 comprehensive stores or supermarkets with a business area of more than 50 square meters.
History of construction
After 1949, it was Liangping Township, belonging to the first district.
In April 1953, three additional townships, Qixing, Chaoyuan and Maping, were set up from Liangping township; in September of the same year, two more townships, Shiyang and Sanhe, were set up from Liangping township.
In March 1955, Shiyang and Sanhe were merged into Liangping.
In April 1956, Maping, Qixing and Chaoyuan were merged into Liangping.
In May 1957, Shiyang and Sanhe were merged into Liangping, from which Zaoyang township was established and Maping township was restored.
In April 1958, Liangping Township and Maping Township merged to form Liangping commune.
In June 1960, Zaoyang commune in Zhonghe district was merged into Liangping commune.
In July 1961, some district teams were separated from Liangping commune to restore Zaoyang commune and newly set up Maping commune.
In April 1984, Liangping commune was changed into Liangping township.
