In the Qing Dynasty, Mingzhong Township belonged to Babao and Sijia; in October 1984, it was changed from Mingzhong commune to Mingzhong township. History of construction

In the Qing Dynasty, it belonged to the eight guarantees and four ranks.

In the second year of the Republic of China (1913), it belonged to Mengxi Township regiment of Southern District. In the 29th year of the Republic of China (1940), it belonged to the three districts of Inner Mongolia.
