Baolong Town, subordinate to Tongnan District of Chongqing, is located in the northeast of Tongnan District, connecting Sichuan District in the East and Southeast, Guxi town in the South and southwest, and Pengxi Qunli town in the West and northwest. It is 32 kilometers away from the people's Government of Tongnan District, with a total area of 42.27 square kilometers.
In the late Qing Dynasty, it was set as Baolong township; in 1993, it was changed from Baolong township to Baolong town. By the end of 2018, the population of Baolong town registered residence was 27684. As of June 2020, Baolong town has 2 communities and 7 administrative villages, and the people's Government of Baolong town is located at 64 Xinglong Street.
In 2018, Baolong town has 16 industrial enterprises and 9 comprehensive stores or supermarkets with a business area of more than 50 square meters.
History of construction
In the late Qing Dynasty, it was set as Baolong township.
In 1914, it was assigned to Tongnan district.
In 1949, it was still Baolong township.
After January 1951, Huiguang Township and Boguo Township were established. Some areas in Baolong such as fanjiaping, Guilin temple and shiziqiao were assigned to Huiguang Township, while zhangjiasi and yanjiazhai were assigned to Boguo township.
After September 1958, it was changed into Baolong commune.
In January 1966, it was renamed Hongguang commune.
In May 1969, it was renamed Baolong commune.
After December 1978, Baolong commune was changed into Baolong township.
In 1993, Baolong township was changed into Baolong town.
