Huaxiang Township
Huaxiang township is located in the east of Donglan County, bordering Jiuwei town of Jinchengjiang District in the East, Sanwang town of Jinchengjiang District in the north, Bansheng town of Dahua County in the south, and Changle, Datong, Aidong and other towns in the West. The township governs 11 administrative villages, 239 villager groups and 364 natural villages, with a total population of 20000 people, inhabiting six ethnic groups including Zhuang, Han, Yao, Miao, Dong and Maonan.
Historical evolution
Huaxiang began in the late Ming Dynasty and early Qing Dynasty. Now it has a history of more than 300 years. Since ancient times, Huaxiang has been prosperous in commerce and trade. It is the largest agricultural market in the eastern part of Donglan. Huaxiang township is a new township approved by the autonomous region in January 2002. In the past two years, the township party committee and government have taken strong measures to fully implement the spirit of the 16th National Congress of the Communist Party of China. With the theme of accelerating development, they have put forward the "234" work idea, blazed new trails, pursued truth and made progress, and completed the preparatory work for Xinxiang.

Huaxiang township has a superior geographical location and is known as the "gateway" of Donglan. National Highway 323 runs across the territory, which is the only way to Hechi in dongbafeng area.

The total area of the township is about 210 square kilometers, with a total cultivated area of 13554 mu, including 4678 mu of paddy field and 8876 mu of dry land. The main crops are rice, corn, soybeans, sweet potato, etc.; the cash crops are chestnut, plum, Tung fruit, star anise, etc., which are rich in May plum. They are fresh, tender, big, crisp and delicious, and are sold in and out of the region; the animal husbandry mainly raises pigs, cattle and sheep. In 2003, the GDP of the township was 37.35 million yuan, the fiscal revenue was 346000 yuan, and the per capita net income of farmers was 1089 yuan. In the new stage of the national poverty alleviation plan, eight villages are listed as poor villages, which is a collection of "old, young, border, mountain and poor" villages and towns.
