The township is a mountainous area with fertile land, mainly including rice, corn and valleys. The township has a forest area of 275000 mu, with a forest coverage rate of 62.3%. The main cash crops are Badu bamboo shoot, tung oil tree, Camellia oleifera and star anise. It is one of the main producing areas of tung oil tree in the county, and it is also the famous origin of Badu bamboo shoot at home and abroad. At present, the planting area of Badu bamboo shoot in the township has exceeded 25000 mu. The township is rich in exploitable gold, antimony, copper, diabase, silica and other mineral resources.

Badu Yao Township took various measures to promote the increase of agricultural income.

First, strengthen the construction of agricultural infrastructure. By adopting the way of "three points", i.e. one point supported by the superior, one point solved by the government and one point raised by the masses, we organized the masses to invest in repairing more than 10 water conservancy projects in sanmianguang, and reclaimed more than 260 mu of abandoned farmland.

The second is to implement the strategy of "invigorating agriculture through science and technology" and to promote good breeding methods. In the first half of the year, 9780 mu of hybrid rice was popularized, accounting for 100% of the total rice area in the township; 9000 mu of hybrid corn was popularized, accounting for 98% of the total corn planting area in the township.

Third, adjust and optimize the industrial structure and highlight the characteristic industries. Develop the characteristic industrial structure mode with flue-cured tobacco as the main part and tung oil tree and Badu bamboo shoot as the auxiliary part. This year, 126 households in 10 natural villages of 7 villages planted flue-cured tobacco, with a planting area of 650 Mu and 13 new curing houses. It is estimated that the output of flue-cured tobacco this year will be 1800 Dan, with an output value of 1 million yuan; the planting area of Badu bamboo shoots will be expanded, and the deep processing of Badu bamboo shoots will be well done, with an annual output of more than 8 million kg of fresh bamboo shoots this year; the project of "one village, one product" will be implemented, and the production of mulberry, silkworm and sugarcane will be vigorously developed. This year, the township planted 400 mu of mulberry and 500 mu of sugarcane. The fourth is to increase the intensity of product reform and promote the fine varieties. In the first half of the year, there were 10500 cattle and 4000 goats in the village. The crossbreeding improvement rate of pigs, chickens, ducks and geese was over 95%. The fifth is to do a good job in the construction of "Forest Pulp paper integration" base. By June 30, the total afforestation area of the township was 6000 mu, including 3000 mu of bamboo, 700 mu of Eucalyptus, 450 mu of fir, 400 mu of pine, 400 mu of birch, 300 mu of Camellia oleifera, 150 mu of chestnut and 100 mu of plum.

Badu polder is one of the main polder sites, covering an area of 2500 square meters, with one polder in five days and about 1000 people driving the polder; nanaowei polder site covers an area of 1500 square meters and 800 people driving the polder on Sundays.
