General situation

Dapowai town is located in the southeast of Beiliu City, bordering Lingshan of Rong County in the East, Longsheng Town in the south, Qingshuikou town in the West and Xinrong town in the north. The town people's government is located in the outer polder of Dapo, 35 kilometers away from the urban area. Since 1987, Dapowai town designated Darong village to Qingshuikou Town, it now has 11 villager committees and 197 villager groups in Xin'an, Dapowai, daponei, Gaofeng, nanshang, qinchong, gukuai, Fenshui, Beirong, Shapo and Sanban. The town covers an area of 127.22 square kilometers (12721.8 hectares). By the end of 1995, there were 8237 households in the town. There are 37497 people, including 20031 males and 17466 females, 36191 agricultural population and 704 non-agricultural population. The population density is 295 per square kilometer. Historical evolution

In the Qing Dynasty, the town of Dapowai was under the jurisdiction of boyili, and followed the system of Qing Dynasty in the early Republic of China. During the 21-38 years of the Republic of China (193-1949), it was under the jurisdiction of two waves. In June 1950, 12 districts were set up in Beiliu, and the area outside Dapo was under the jurisdiction of the Sixth District. In June 1956, the Sixth District was renamed Longsheng district. In December 1957, the district was withdrawn and the township was merged, which was divided into Dapowai Township and nanshang township. In August 1958, the "unity of government and society" was implemented, which was called Chaoying people's Commune and Hongxing people's commune respectively. In March 1959, the two communes merged and were called Dapowai commune. In October 1962, it was changed to the outer part of Dapo. october 1968, also known as Dapowai commune. In June 1984, the system of "unity of government and society" was changed from Dapowai commune to Dapowai township. in May 1994, it was renamed Dapowai town.
