Danzhu town

Danzhu town is located on the North Bank of Xijiang River in the east of Pingnan County, Guigang City. It is adjacent to Heping Town, Tengxian County, Wuzhou City in the East, Wulin town in the south, Donghua Township in the north and Pingnan town in the West. The land transportation is convenient. There is Xijiang golden waterway by water and 323 provincial highway (Wuzhou Qianjiang highway) by land. It is the throat of Pingnan to Guilin. The daily flow of people, logistics and vehicles is huge. With a total area of 159.34 square kilometers, the town has jurisdiction over 11 administrative villages and 1 neighborhood committee, with a total population of 96452 (in 2017). Danzhu town is a traditional industrial, agricultural and economic town in Pingnan County. It is a key town for the construction of small towns in Guangxi. It is also one of the first 300 towns with China's investment environment and one of the top 100 towns with comprehensive rural economic strength in Guangxi.

In October 2019, Danzhu town was selected as one of the "Top 1000 towns with comprehensive strength in China in 2019".

Evolution of organizational system

Danzhu town has a long history. According to the records of Pingnan County annals, it was called Qinchuan county from the third to the twelfth year of Zhenguan in Tang Dynasty, danzhubu in the 21st year of Qianlong in Qing Dynasty, and Beiyi District in the period of the Republic of China. In January 1950, when the people's Government of Pingnan County was established, it was called Danzhu district. After liberation, the people's Government of Pingnan County was called Danzhu District when it was founded in 1950. In 1951, it belonged to the Ninth District of Pingnan County and was called Danzhu town. In September 1984, Danzhu town officially became an established town, with 16 village streets under its jurisdiction, including Dongshan, Sanhe, Fengtang, Danzhu, changqitang, Meiling, langliao, Tuanjie, Chima, luocen, Baima, Xiangzi, Dongping, Xinghua, Xintian and Danzhu streets. In 1986, seven administrative villages, Chima, luocen, Baima, Xiangzi, Dongping, Xinghua and Xintian, were separated from Danzhu town and established two townships, Chima and Donghua. In October 2005, Chima township was merged into Danzhu town again. The town has jurisdiction over the neighborhood committee of Danzhu community and 11 village committees of Dongshan, Sanhe, Fengtang, Danzhu, changqitang, Meiling, langliao, Tuanjie, Chima, luocen and Baima. It is one of the key towns in Guangxi.

It is adjacent to Heping Town, Tengxian County, Wuzhou City in the East, Wulin town in the south, Donghua Township in the north and Pingnan town in the West. The total population was 96452 (2017). The area of cultivated land is 57009 mu, including 38077 mu of paddy field and 18932 mu of dry land. The land transportation is convenient. Danzhu town is located in the subtropical monsoon area, belonging to the subtropical monsoon climate. High temperature, plenty of sunshine and plenty of rainfall. The annual average temperature is 21.5 ℃. The land is fertile and rich in products. It is rich in litchi, longan, watermelon, jujube, fruit cane, Phyllanthus emblica, mango, pear and other fruits.

Danzhu town has unique resources and great development potential. Zhushaleng tobacco and seedless watermelon have long been famous. Shixia longan and "Pingdan No.1" dayuyu Ganguo won the national and International Agricultural Expo Gold Awards respectively. The reserve of high-quality limestone in the territory is up to 4.8 billion tons, which is the superior raw material for the production of high-quality cement, lime, building ceramics and mining, metallurgy and chemical materials.

Economic overview

In recent years, Danzhu town's industry has achieved rapid development. The annual output of 10 million tons of cement project of China Resources with an investment of 3 billion yuan has been successfully completed and put into operation, which is the largest taxpayer in the city. The preliminary preparation work of Guidong nuclear power project with an investment of 60 billion yuan is in progress, and the new energy base has basically formed. While leading the whole county in industrialization, Danzhu town vigorously promotes urbanization through industrialization, raising 46 million yuan for the development of the new area in the north of the city and the reconstruction of the old city, of which 3.5 million yuan has been invested in the reconstruction of the old city, and the streets have taken on a new look; 42.5 million yuan has been invested in the development of the new area, 509 mu of land has been acquired, the main street has been built, the urban framework has been fully opened, and the scale has doubled. In 2010, the gross national product of Danzhu town reached 1.26 billion yuan, the fiscal revenue at the same level was 101 million yuan, and the balance of residents' savings deposits at the end of the year was 640 million yuan.

famous scenery

In baimawei, Danzhu Town, there are two buildings commemorating local historical figures. One is the memorial hall of the number one scholar in memory of Liang song, and the other is the "general trilateral square" commemorating the national hero yuan Chonghuan. Together, it is called Baima Shuangying.

Liang song, a native of Lilong Street (now Dapeng town) in Penghua, Pingnan, was the number one scholar in high school in the first year of Bailong (925) of the Southern Han Dynasty. Later, he resigned because of dissatisfaction with the tyranny and returned to his hometown. He won a tax exemption for Gongzhou people for one year. It's a pity that he was drowned by the flood when he was riding a white horse across the Donghao river mouth. In order to thank him, Pingnan people built a champion temple in baimawei. The corridor of the stele is engraved with the poem of litchi written by him when he was the number one scholar and the Fu of yimenwangzi written on behalf of his mother when he resigned from office.

The "general trilateral square" built in memory of yuan Chonghuan is 13.38 meters high. There are antique patterns on the stele of the square, which is magnificent and solemn. The house on the top of the wharf at the West Hall of baimawei is yuan Chonghuan's former residence. Yuan Chonghuan was born in Dongguan, Pingnan, Guangdong Province. He was a Jinshi. At the critical moment of foreign invasion and the survival of the country, he devoted himself to the army and served the country. Later, he was framed by the treacherous party. However, his patriotism inspired generations of Gongzhou children.
