Shangshuai town

Shangshuai town is located in Lianshan County, Qingyuan City, Guangdong Province. It is one of the main towns inhabited by Zhuang people and the two old revolutionary bases in Lianshan county. It is also the most remote and the only town without county road. Until December 2014, G55 Er Guang Expressway officially opened the exit of xiaosanjiang Town, turned into 411 County Road, passed by Xiashuai Zhuang township of HUAIJI County for 22 kilometers, and reached shangshuai town in about 20 minutes. The town has a total area of 102.14 square kilometers (2017) and a population of 4022 (2017).

General situation

Shangshuai town is located in the southwest of the county, adjacent to Nanxiang of Guangxi in the West and HUAIJI of Zhaoqing in the south, 78 km away from the county. From the county to shangshuai Town, it goes straight to xiaosanjiang exit of Er Guang expressway, turns into 411 County Road, and passes by Xiashuai Zhuang Township of HUAIJI County, 23 km, about 20 minutes to enter shangshuai, which is like an isolated town hanging outside the county. Due to its remote location and inconvenient transportation, the economy of shangshuai town has been developing slowly for a long time, and it is still one of the 41 poor towns in the province. every year, the "ox King's birthday" festival, sponsored by Guangdong Lianshan Ethnic Studies Association and shangshuai Town People's government, is held in Dongjun village, Lianguan village committee. The programs are rich and colorful, especially the local folk songs and dances, story telling and other large-scale programs, attracting tourists from all walks of life.
