Chunwan town is one of the 100 small town construction pilot towns in China, the provincial central town in Guangdong Province, and one of the 26 comprehensive reform pilot towns in Guangdong Province. Chunwan town is the main production area of grain, sugarcane, vegetable and fruit in Yangchun City.

In October 2019, Chunwan town was selected as one of the "Top 1000 towns with comprehensive strength in China in 2019".
