Xihe Township

Xihe township is subordinate to Fenyang City, Shanxi Province. It is located in the west of Fenyang City, with an area of 12.74 square kilometers and a permanent resident population of 48200 (in 2018). Together with Wenfeng street and taiheqiao street, it forms Fenyang City.

Historical evolution

In 1958, Fenyang built Chengguan commune, and in 1984, Chengguan town was established. In 1996, Chengguan town covers an area of 24.7 square kilometers and has a population of 10000. It has jurisdiction over 10 administrative villages in southeast, northeast, Beiguan, Xiguan, Dongguan, Nanguan, Ximen, Beimen, fengjiazhuang and hongnanshe.

In March 2001, Chengguan town was abolished and Wenfeng street, taiheqiao street and Xihe Township were established. Xihe township was under the jurisdiction of Xiguan village, Ximen village, Beimen village, fengjiazhuang village in the northwest of the former Chengguan town and Daxiangshan village and xiaoxiangshan village in the former Lijiazhuang township.

In 2010, Xihe township was abolished and Xihe street was set up. Xihe street was under the jurisdiction of Yingxiong North Road community, Yingxiong South Road community, Xiyuan Community, Zhonghua street community, Panlong community, fengjiazhuang village, Xiguan village, Daxiangshan village, xiaoxiangshan village, Beimen village, Ximen village and Shita village of original Lijiazhuang township.

In 2016, the name of Xihe street was restored to Xihe township.

Xihe township is located in the Western core area of Fenyang City, with Xihe road as the central axis, to the entrance and exit of Fenyang West Expressway in the south, to the entrance and exit of Fenyang Expressway in the north, to Xueyuan Road hero road in the East, and to G20 Qingyin Expressway Bridge in the West. From north, it began to clockwise in the valley, and along the Taihe Road, Taihe bridge, Wenfeng street and Li Jia Zhuang township. The area is 12.74 square kilometers, the registered residence population is 31 thousand and 700 (2018), and the resident population is 48 thousand and 200 (2018).

In 2007, the total social and economic income of Xihe township was 222.64 million yuan, and the total output value of township enterprises was 285 million yuan. In agriculture, we should adhere to the development direction of stabilizing grain production, moderately developing forestry and fruit industry, gradually expanding animal husbandry, and supporting leading enterprises in agricultural industrialization. In terms of enterprise development, it pays attention to relying on the advantages of urban areas, actively attracting investment, and plays a leading role of backbone enterprises. A number of large enterprises such as Ximen Shenchi Tire Co., Ltd. and Beimen Feilong market have emerged. At the same time, we should vigorously develop the tertiary industry. Hotels, supermarkets, markets, transportation and various intermediary services are booming, and the proportion of service industry in economic development is increasing.

In 2018, the economic income of Xihe township was 450 million yuan, the disposable income of urban permanent residents was 22821 yuan, and the per capita net income of rural permanent residents was 13289 yuan. Corn is the main food crop in the township, with a total grain production of 840280kg in 2018; walnut is the main economic crop; peanut and vegetables are the main oil crops. In 2018, there were 1537 live pigs, 556 sheep, 15400 chickens and 170 cattle.
