Nan'en Street
Nan'en street is located in the center of the original county. Before the establishment of Yangjiang City, it was the political, economic and cultural center of Yangjiang county. It borders Chengdong street in the East, Chengnan street and Taifu street in the south, Moyang street in the West and sightseeing street across the river in the north, with a total area of 0.43 square kilometers.

In the Ming and Qing Dynasties, nan'en was the cultural and political capital of the county. From November 1983 to December 1987, it was the first administrative area of Jiangcheng town. In September 1988, nan'en sub district office was established, which has jurisdiction over nan'en, Beimen and Tianjiu. Population 62033 (2010). Nan'en street has always been an industrial and commercial center, among which the state-owned enterprises include the municipal printing factory, the municipal food factory, the municipal lacquerware craft factory and the municipal waterworks, and the enterprises directly under the district government include the Jiangcheng Beishan Jiaohua factory, the Jiangcheng pharmaceutical factory, the Jiangcheng rubber factory and the Jiangcheng knife factory. After the reform and opening up, private enterprises rose. By 2000, there were 38 private and individual enterprises, mainly producing hardware and plastic products, with an annual output value of 87 million yuan. The main enterprises are Jiangcheng Xiangyang household knife factory, Jiangcheng Xiangyang civil hardware factory, Jiangcheng Chaoyang shed factory, Jiangcheng Chaoyang hardware factory, etc. Nan'en road is lined with shops. Before the founding of the people's Republic of China, there were three famous photo studios: Meili Jingguo seafood, pinzhen youtang, Mingzhu, Pianpian and Yanfang, laoyihe suitcase store and Nanqiang hotel. After the founding of new China, nan'en district is still a shopping center. During the period of national planned economy, the government's eight major industries are all located in nan'en road. After the reform and opening up, the country has implemented a commodity economy. Individual businesses have flocked to the streets and set up stalls on the street. The central department store, nan'en shopping mall, NANDA department store, overseas Chinese company building and commercial electrical appliance city have also been built. The prosperity of nan'en road has led to the prosperity of Huancheng North Road. The residents along the road have set up shops to decorate the facade, mainly engaged in household appliances, lighting, decoration materials, electronics and advertising signboards. In 1996, Huancheng new street was built. It is the largest garment wholesale market in the city. There are 125 stalls with an annual sales of 40 million yuan.
Development history
In 1997, the Yangjiang municipal government started to rebuild Niujiao lane and build Xinhua North Road, a shopping pedestrian street, which was completed in 1999. After the completion of Xinhua North Road, there are 300 shops, mainly selling famous brand clothing, shoes and audio, with an annual turnover of 144 million yuan. In 2000, the sub district office transformed sweet wine lane into a shoe street. This year, there were 1000 shops in the area, with an annual turnover of 480 million yuan. from 1988 to 2000, there were nine hotels and stalls in the area, including Nanqiang Hotel (with tourism), never Night City Hotel, Xinqiang Hotel and Dongmen Hotel on nan'en Road, Beiliu stalls, Sishu Hotel and dajiale bar on Huancheng North Road, water and electricity dining hall and seafood restaurant on Beihuan Road, Beimen Hotel, grain Hostel, AoChun building and overseas Chinese hotel And so on. Among them, the nighttown Hotel, the Grand Hotel, the Xinqiang Hotel, the Nanqiang Hotel, the grain Hostel, and the overseas Chinese tourism industry were closed down in the late 1990s due to business depression. There are 32 hair salons and 3 photo studios in the whole area. nan'en district has a profound cultural heritage, including Beishan stone pagoda, Ruihe stone carving and Beimen Gongqiao. In 2000, there were one middle school, three primary schools, two kindergartens, Yangjiang people's cinema, theater, Beishan martyrs cemetery, Wenchang palace, Xinhua Bookstore, etc. there are cultural stations in the streets, cultural rooms in all neighborhood committees, chess teams, basketball teams, badminton teams, etc. Beishan martyrs cemetery and Zhongshan Cultural Park often hold mass folk song singing and Bai Lan competitions.
