Zhongshan West Road

Zhongshan West Road starts from the South and North Jiefang Road of Ningbo in the East and ends at Ximen Banqiao in the west, connecting with Xijiao road. It is 1008 meters long and 28.5 meters wide, including 19.5 meters of driveway, asphalt pavement, and planting flowers and plants in the separation zone. It used to be called Xida road.

Section introduction

Yongle's Ningbo Fu Zhi and Chenghua's Siming Jun Zhi are called Dajie. Yongzheng's "Ningbo Fu Zhi" is called Gulou Xizhi street. Guangxu's Yinxian annals is called Gulou Street. Old names include guanqiaotou, dumuqiao, gulouqian, huizhengqiao, Tianningsi, Helishi bridge, Ximenkou, etc.

Historical name

The road was built in 1936, which is the west section of the east-west trunk road of Chengxiang, so it is called Xida road.

In 1946, it was renamed Zhongshan West Road in memory of Dr. Sun Yat Sen, the forerunner of democratic revolution.

In the "Cultural Revolution", it was merged with Zhongshan East Road, which was called Dongfanghong street.

In 1981, it was renamed Zhongshan West Road.

From 1983 to 1985, all the houses on the south side of the street were demolished and the xihoujie street was widened and rebuilt to its present appearance.
