Yousheng town

Yousheng Town, a town under the jurisdiction of Heping County, Heyuan City, Guangdong Province, is located in the northeast of Heping County, covering an area of 117.31 square kilometers. As of 2019, it has one neighborhood committee and eight village committees with a total population of 10080 (2017).

The terrain of Yousheng town is mainly hilly with fertile land and annual average temperature of 18 ℃. Rich in high-quality rice, tea oil, mushrooms and other agricultural products. Provincial Highway s229 runs through the whole town.

In 2015, the grain planting area of Yousheng town was 1280.8 hectares, and the total agricultural output value was 90.95 million yuan.

History of construction

In the Ming and Qing Dynasties, Yousheng belonged to guangsantu, which was called Li Keng Fang at that time.

In the early period of the Republic of China, it is said that because of the abundant oil bamboo in this area a long time ago, it was once renamed youzhuba and Youzhen, and was put under the jurisdiction of Sanmin township.

At the beginning of the founding of new China, it was called Yousheng township.

From 1958 to 1960, it was first called Wudong commune together with Xiache and Changtang, and then divided into Yousheng commune.

In 1987, it was renamed Yousheng township.

In 1994, it was renamed Yousheng town.

administrative division

In 1994, it has jurisdiction over 10 administrative areas: Youzhen, Xinlian, shangtan, Shangshi, Xiashi, Shiba, xiuxi, youer, Litang and Yuxi. Yousheng Town People's government is located in Yousheng street. Among them, Litang, xiuxi, youer and Yuxi are old revolutionary bases.

In 2019, it has jurisdiction over one neighborhood committee and eight village committees: Street neighborhood committee, Youzhen village committee, Xinlian village committee, shangtan village committee, Xinshi village committee, Shiba village committee, xiuxi village committee, youer village committee and Yuxi village committee. The town government is stationed in the neighborhood committee.

Yousheng town is located in the northeast of Heping County, adjacent to Changtang town and beidun town in the East, pengzhai town in the south, Shangling Town, Daba town and Yangming town in the west, Xiache town in the north, and 48 km away from the county. It covers an area of 117.31 square kilometers.

Transportation

Luomi highway, provincial highway s229, runs through Yousheng town. County Road mi (Fu) East (water) line traverses the whole territory, reaching Jiangxi in the north and Longchuan in the East; Township Road beidun Yousheng line is connected with Heyang line. Yousheng to Hecheng highway can be directly connected to Heping railway station.

History and culture

Yousheng town has historical and cultural relics such as e-chest bridge, ancient villages and snow mountain peaks, among which Xinlian village is one of the third batch of ancient villages recognized by Guangdong Province.

The e-chest bridge, built in 1760, is 43.2 meters long, 9.1 meters high and 5.3 meters wide, all paved with granite beams.

Xueshanzhang, the highest peak in Yousheng Town, with an altitude of 803 meters, is one of the key protected cultural relics in Heping County. It is also the only scenic spot for enjoying snow in Guangdong.

Famous people

Martyrs such as Chen Ming and he xianjue, who died in Songhu Anti Japanese War, emerged in Yousheng town; those who died for the country during the war of Liberation: Xu Jinzhong (Matan), Chen Guanhuo (Mulong), he Qianyi (Youzhen), He Fang (Litang), Zeng Shiyuan (Mulong), he Qionghua (Tianyu), he yuelang (Litang), Chen Fulin (Mulong), Lu Xianmen（ He Shengxin, Chen Guohua, and Zhu Huanxin, 16 martyrs of Youzhen village, Yousheng Town, were killed in the war of self-defense and counterattack against Vietnam.
