Brief introduction of Forest Farm

Founded in 1958, the farm is located in the northwest of Lufeng City, 9 kilometers away from Lucheng, covering an area of 8.1 square kilometers. It is mainly fruit forestry production. From 1964 to 1968, the Party committee and government of Lufeng County established the "Communist Labor University of Lufeng County" in the field, with a total enrollment of 500 students and a three-year schooling system. The students worked part-time and studied part-time, and came and went from the society. From December 1968 to 1972, the "May 7th" cadre school in Lufeng County was founded. 1274 cadres from government departments and units were "decentralized" and 546 educated youth from "going to the mountains and the countryside" participated in "labor training" and "re education". During this period, normal schools, agricultural schools and health schools were established, recruiting 450 students to train technical talents for rural areas. In 1970 and 1972, Lufeng County Agricultural Science Institute and cattle improvement station moved to the farm and established Lufeng County improved variety demonstration farm. In October 1978, it was renamed as animal husbandry fruit forest farm of Lufeng County, which was established at the deputy bureau level. In 1980, there were 39 cadres and workers and 41 young intellectuals. After 1983, the agricultural production responsibility system was implemented, and the fruit forestry production was vigorously developed. In 1994, there were 121 cadres and workers, with a mountainous area of 10726 mu, mainly planted with Pinus massoniana, Acacia auriculiformis and Pinus Americana, 1255 mu of litchi and other fruit trees, 365 mu of arable land and grain crops.
