Taohe Town, belonging to Haifeng County, Shanwei City, Guangdong Province, is located in the southeast of Haifeng County. In the northwest, it is bounded by Huangjiang River and faces the affiliated towns across the river. In the northeast, it is bounded by Dongxi River and is divided into Chengdong town and Ketang town. In the southwest, it is bordered by Hongcao town. The origin of place names

Taohe town is located in the central and southern part of the county, 9 kilometers away from Haicheng in the northwest. The town government is stationed in taotangwei. Taotangwei is also known as "Du (DU) Tangwei". At the end of Ming Dynasty and the beginning of Qing Dynasty, a large number of residents migrated from Fujian, opened commercial ports, and produced a large number of pottery, which were sold at home and abroad.

Baizi opera is a kind of local opera sung in hailufeng dialect of Shanwei City. It flowed from southern Fujian to eastern Guangdong in the late Yuan and early Ming Dynasties. Later, it absorbed folk arts such as Zhuma, qiangu, Yuge and Chaozhou Opera music, and then sang in local dialect, gradually forming its own style and characteristics. At first, both Baizi opera and Chaozhou Opera were called Baizi opera, and Baizi opera was called "hailufeng Baizi", also known as "Nanxia Baizi"; Chaozhou Baizi, also known as "dingtou Baizi", was later used to refer to hailufeng Baizi.
