Xiaosheng town

Xiaosheng town is subordinate to Fengshun County, Meizhou City, Guangdong Province. It is located in the northeast of the county, on the West Bank of the middle reaches of Hanjiang River, adjacent to Tanjiang River in the East, dalonghua in the west, Huangjin in the South and Shatian in the north. The town is 64 km from Shatian to Meizhou City, 68 km from dalonghua and Fengliang to tangkeng County, and 60 km from Liuhuang to Chaozhou. The total area is 75.69 square kilometers (in 2017), including 99000 mu of mountainous area and 6987 mu of cultivated land (6287 mu of paddy field and 700 mu of dry land). It has 11 village committees and 155 natural villages with a total population of 8439 (2017). The main resources in the town are water, forest, bamboo, porcelain clay and granite. In 2007, the per capita income of rural residents was 3639 yuan.

Most of the soil in the town is clayey soil with little sand content, which is suitable for the growth of many crops, including rice. It is suitable for planting cassava, longan, banana, olive, bamboo, lac and other economic forest crops in mountainous areas. Water resources have been well utilized. There are four big and small Shantang reservoirs in the town, with a storage capacity of more than 1 million cubic meters. They have played a significant role in flood control, drought prevention, irrigation, power generation and so on. At present, the total installed capacity of hydropower development in the town is 3700 kilowatts. In 2004, the construction project of Camellia oleifera base of Guangdong Taiyuan Agricultural Science Co., Ltd. was settled in Xiaosheng town. The mode of "company + base + farmer" was adopted to develop, plant and process Camellia oleifera in Xiaosheng town. The planting area of Camellia oleifera in our town is more than 12000 mu, of which 10000 mu is planted in the base, and more than 2000 mu is planted by farmers. The processing plant was built and put into operation in May 2007, and the camellia oil "chashulin" was successfully put into the market.
