Baoxi Township

Baoxi Township, belonging to Longquan City, Lishui City, Zhejiang Province, is located in the west of Longquan City, Zhejiang Province. It borders Zhuyang Township and Shangyang town in the East, Shangyang town in the south, Pucheng County in Fujian Province in the West and Zhulong town in the north. The township has a total area of 156.92 square kilometers (2017), a mountain forest area of 211050 Mu and a cultivated land area of 12102 mu. It governs 11 administrative villages with a total population of 4093 people (2017). Every village in the township has access to cars and telephones. In 2004, the total industrial and agricultural output value of Baoxi township was 116.67 million yuan, including 36.27 million yuan of agricultural output value, 80.4 million yuan of industrial output value and 3768 yuan of per capita net income.

In July 2020, the National Patriotic Health Campaign Committee reconfirmed Baoxi township as a national health township.

brief introduction

Baoxi township is named after baogeng and Xitou village. Baoxi is the central area of the guerrilla base in Southwest Zhejiang. The first shot of the Red Army into Zhejiang was in Xitou village of Baoxi. Gaotang village in Baoxi is the founding place of the special committee and Longpu County Committee in Southwest Zhejiang. Gaoshan and huzhuxi village are the special committee's residences. In 1985, the province and the prefecture approved Baoxi township as an old revolutionary base during the Agrarian Revolutionary War.

Gaoshan village, Baoxi Township, has the famous Piyun mountain with beautiful scenery, rich forest resources and the vicissitudes of a century old trees. It is expected to become a tourist scenic spot in the near future. During the second Civil Revolutionary War, the Red Army advance division led by Su Yu and Liu Ying was active in Baoxi and Zhulong. During the Anti Japanese War, it was a special committee station.

Famous pottery making Village

Xitou village, a famous porcelain making village, is the seat of the people's Government of Baoxi township. People here make full use of the rich resources and set up an antique celadon factory. Li Huaide of Xitou village is a famous technician in the celadon industry of Longquan City. Since the reform and opening up, Zhang Shaobin and others have inherited his father's business and also set up an antique celadon factory. His "golden wire chicken heart bowl" won the first prize in the "Sixth National Ceramic Art Design Innovation exhibition and evaluation conference" sponsored by China Ceramic Industry Association in 1998. At present, there are more than 10 celadon manufacturers in Xitou village. Their imitative celadon and ancient celadon are lifelike, beautiful, complete in variety and smart in style, which have high ornamental value and collection value.

In January 2020, Baoxi township was selected into the list of beautiful town construction models in Zhejiang Province in 2020.
