Maonan Development Zone

Maonan development zone is located in Maonan District, Maoming City, Guangdong Province. It was established with the approval of Guangdong Provincial People's Government in October 1992 and retained with the approval of the national development and Reform Commission in February 2006. It has jurisdiction over nine neighborhood committees with a total population of 20300.

Since the establishment of the Development Zone, zhannan road and Tianqiao road connecting Maoming City in the north-south direction and Maonan Avenue connecting gaoshui road and Huanshi West Road in the east-west direction have been built; posts and telecommunications, water supply and power supply have been integrated into the urban network. It has developed and constructed 5.19 square kilometers, including 4.09 square kilometers of commercial and residential areas and 1.1 square kilometers of industrial areas. Eight neighborhood committees have been included in the overall urban planning of Maoming City. It is an important part of the North group of Maoming City and an important carrier of Maoming City moving south. the economy of the development zone has developed continuously and rapidly, creating the top three in the city. First, the total amount of feed production is the largest in the city. There are 9 feed processing enterprises with an annual production capacity of 920000 tons, becoming the largest feed production base in Maoming. Second, car sales are the highest in the city. On both sides of Maonan Avenue, 9 enterprises specializing in automobile sales and more than 20 second-hand automobile trading malls have been built, including Minghu Automobile City, Wuzhou Automobile City, FAW Volkswagen 4S shop, FAW Toyota 4S shop and Guangzhou Honda 4S shop, with annual sales of more than 500 million yuan, becoming the largest automobile trading center in Maoming. Third, the growth rate of real estate construction is the fastest in the city. Seventeen real estate companies, including Yifang, Haocheng, CITIC, Jinxiu, Hongfu and Ruixin, have invested in the construction of the development zone. In 2008, the real estate construction area increased by 280000 square meters over the previous year. The secondary schools, primary schools, medical and health institutions, farmers' markets, banks and other institutions in the area are well-equipped.
