From the early Ming Dynasty to the reign of Emperor Guangxu of the Qing Dynasty, Changsha Port, Dihai port and Xinchang port were built here, so it was named. The Qing Dynasty was the capital of morality and industry. From 1912 to 1949, Xinchang and Dihai belonged to Taishan County, and Changsha was the eighth District of Kaiping county. In October 1949, three ports of Changsha, Xinchang and Dihai were set up, including East and West townships of Changsha in Kaiping County, lechong Township, Wangbei Township, Shihai Township, Nanshan Township, Sanwei Township and Jingtou Township in Taishan county. On July 1, 1952, Sanbu town merged with Kaiping county. On July 11, 1952, Kaiping county government moved from Chikan town to Sanbu town.
