Pingsha Town, belonging to Jinwan District, Zhuhai City, Guangdong Province, is located in the west of Jinwan District and the west of the Pearl River Estuary, bordering on jitimen in the East and Huangmaohai in the west, Qianwu town of Doumen District in the north and Gaolan Port Economic Zone in the south. The total area is 166.32 square kilometers. In late 2018, the population of Ping Sha town registered residence was 49452. As of June 2020, Pingsha town has a total of 11 communities under its jurisdiction.

In 1925, Xiangshan County was renamed Zhongshan County, and Pingsha was still under the jurisdiction of Zhongshan County. On January 1, 1990, Pingsha changed its name to Pingsha administrative district of Zhuhai City. On January 1, 2000, Zhuhai abolished the "Pingsha management area" and established "Pingsha town". In October 2019, Pingsha town was selected as one of the "Top 1000 towns with comprehensive strength in China in 2019". On November 29, 2019, Pingsha town was selected into the list of forest towns in Guangdong Province.

In 2018, there were 232 industrial enterprises in Pingsha Town, including 68 Industrial Enterprises above designated size.

Historical evolution

In 1925, Xiangshan County was renamed Zhongshan County, and Pingsha was still under the jurisdiction of Zhongshan County.

Before the founding of the people's Republic of China, Pingsha town belonged to Chaoju township of Xiangshan County, Guangzhou.

In 1955, Pingsha machinery farm was built and later renamed Pingsha farm in Guangdong Province.

In 1978, Huaqiao farm in shapingsha was changed.

In 1988, the provincial government delegated the Pingsha overseas Chinese farm to Zhuhai City.

On January 1, 1990, Pingsha changed its name to Pingsha administrative district of Zhuhai City.
