Island Village, adjacent to the Bohai Sea in the west, is only one sea away from Changxing Island. There are 6 villager groups in the village, with 557 households, 1346 agricultural population and 5600 mu of cultivated land. Island Village "niangnianggong" rice is well-known in southern Liaoning Province and welcomed by consumers.

There are six groups of villagers in the village, with 557 households and 1346 agricultural population. The existing cultivated land is 5600 mu, including 5000 mu of paddy field and 3.7 mu of paddy field per capita. For many years, rice production is the leading industry of the whole village, which is famous for its crystal clear, delicious and sweet rice. 80% of the cultivated land in the village is close to the sea, with low-lying, waterlogged, salinized and constantly affected by the sea breeze and tide. The livelihood of farmers mainly depends on rice production. Santai township has abundant fresh water resources and relatively perfect water conservancy facilities. It has a history of nearly 100 years of rice production. Since 1997, our township has cooperated with the provincial Rice Research Institute to establish a new variety test base in island village. Since then, we have introduced dozens of excellent varieties, organized large-scale production of green food and non harmful rice operation procedures, obtained mature experience, and obtained green certificates issued by the state, province and city Pollution free certification and scientific and technological progress award. In 2008, the rice planting area of the village was 5000 mu, and 55% of the farmers in the village were engaged in this industry.

Since 2004, the superior departments have invested nearly 10 million yuan in the water and soil improvement and moisture-proof facilities of the pollution-free rice production base in the island village in batches. A total of 3000 mu of saline alkali land and low waterlogged land have been transformed, 20 km of anti-seepage water conservancy projects have been built, 14 km of moisture-proof dams have been built, 280 bridges, culverts and gates have been built, and 400000 yuan has been invested in the countryside to build 16 km of main roads and branches. In 2007, the total output of rice in the village exceeded 2500 tons, with an average yield of 500 kg per unit area, reaching a record high, with an income of 5.4 million yuan and a per capita income of more than 4000 yuan. At present, through the rice Association, there is a processing room for rice products, and the industrial and commercial registered trademark has been handled. From planting to harvest, from technology to sales, the association is responsible for the unified organization and implementation. At present, rice production is faced with low food prices, increased costs and other uncertain factors, farmers' enthusiasm for rice production is not high, but due to the support of various national policies to benefit farmers, farmers have great confidence in rice production. Island Village "niangnianggong" rice is well-known in southern Liaoning Province and welcomed by consumers.
