Baijiao town

Baijiao Town, belonging to Doumen District, Zhuhai City, Guangdong Province, is located in the east of Doumen district. It is connected with Jingan town by Huangyang River in the west, Shenwan town of Zhongshan City in the east by Modaomen waterway, Zhuhai Avenue in the South and Lianzhou town in the north. The total area is 178 square kilometers. In late 2018, the population of the Bai Jiao Town registered residence was 105551. As of June 2020, Baijiao town has a total of 4 communities, 33 administrative villages and 1 development zone.

Before 1958, it belonged to Doumen commune of Zhongshan County. In 2002, Baijiao and Liuxiang were merged into Baijiao town. In 2018, Baijiao town was listed as one of the "Top 1000 towns with comprehensive strength in China in 2018". In July 2019, Baijiao town was selected by the Department of agriculture and rural areas of Guangdong Province into the list of national strong agricultural towns in 2019. In September 2019, Baijiao town was rated as a provincial professional town with "one village, one product, one town, one industry" by the Department of agriculture and rural areas of Guangdong Province. In October 2019, Baijiao town was selected as one of the "Top 1000 towns with comprehensive strength in China in 2019". On July 29, 2020, Baijiao town was reconfirmed as a national health township (county) by the National Patriotic Health Campaign Committee.

In 2018, there were 50 industrial enterprises in Baijiao Town, including 50 industrial enterprises above designated size.

Historical evolution

Before 1958, it belonged to Doumen commune of Zhongshan County.

In 1983, it was renamed Baijiao District of Doumen County.

In 1986, it was transformed into Baijiao town of Doumen County.

In 2001, it was changed to Baijiao Town, Doumen district.

Baijiao town is a traffic hub in the south of the lower reaches of the Pearl River. The waterway connects Xijiang River and can reach Guangzhou, Jiangmen, Shiqi in Zhongshan and Wuzhou in Guangxi. To the south are the Baitenghu Village Resort in Doumen District and the West District of Zhuhai City. The main road with a width of 50 meters leads to 8 kilometers of Western expressway, 47.3 kilometers to Zhuhai Xiangzhou and Macao by land, and to Doumen customs in the north. It is 11 nautical miles to Macao and 60 nautical miles to Hong Kong.

The origin of place names

Because the ancestor Lin's mountain banana tree floating to the sea to settle in baishigong mountain, it is called Baijiao.

Fengshan Park

Fengshan park is located in the east side of Jingan bridge, 38 Lianqiao Road, Doumen district. Taking the city garden as the theme, it designs an outdoor children's playground to provide tourists and residents with a full range of garden style places for leisure and entertainment.

Crocodile Island

Crocodile island is located 100 meters south of the intersection of Huxin road and Baijiao Road, Baijiao Town, Doumen district. It is one of the tourist attractions in Zhuhai. More than 100 alligators were introduced from Thailand and Malaysia from 1990 to 1995, and more than 100 young alligators were hatched.
